Colombian infrastructure company will triple its footprint in Colombia and launch in Mexico City, delivering abundant fiber connectivity to power AI adoption across the region
MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA - 13/03/2026 - Somos Internet, the vertically integrated fiber provider building AI-ready infrastructure across Latin America, today announced $40 million in Series B funding co-led by Bracket Capital and Ribbit Capital, with participation from new and existing investors including Union Square Ventures, Kaszek Ventures, Not Boring Capital, Zero Infinity Partners and Y Combinator.
If compute is the brain of the AI era, connectivity is the nervous system. High-capacity, low-latency fiber is foundational infrastructure for unlocking AI potential across Latin America. Somos delivers multi-gigabit residential fiber starting at $15/month with no contracts, bespoke enterprise plans up to 100 Gbps, and industry-leading customer satisfaction through AI-supported human agents and proprietary hardware including the Orb.
Somos is Colombia's fastest-growing fiber ISP. The company achieved 3x revenue growth in 2025 and >2x user growth year-over-year, Enterprise customers include Mercado Libre and Rappi. The company projects continued acceleration in 2026 as it more than triples its serviceable footprint in Colombia and enters Mexico City, its first international market.
"This new capital allows the Somos flywheel to approach escape velocity in Colombia and lays the groundwork to repeat the model in Mexico," said Forrest Heath, CEO of Somos. “We’re building FiberX, our data center–inspired network architecture that delivers dedicated fiber connectivity directly to every home, scales from 1G to 100G through simple module swaps, and uses dual fiber links for built-in redundancy. This gives us an unfair advantage, and we expect to become the largest internet provider wherever we offer our service.”
"The really exciting thing about Somos is that their vertical integration unlocks so many different paths for growth," said Packy McCormick of Not Boring Capital. "Everything from selling networking solutions to hyperscalers in Latin American data centers to hardware and digital product offerings to existing users. Their infrastructure capabilities open doors to adjacent industries."
Somos's differentiated cost structure comes from building every layer of the stack: active Ethernet network topology borrowed from data centers, proprietary Orb routers manufactured in-house, and custom software for network management. The result is infrastructure that delivers superior performance (dedicated bandwidth per customer rather than shared connections) while achieving unit economics that improve with scale. The company operates with no contract lock-ins, transparent pricing, and in-house support.
"People assume infrastructure innovation happens in Silicon Valley or Shenzhen," Heath said. "But the best place to build the future is where you can deploy quickly and prove the model works. We're delivering world class service quality at accessible prices, and if that works for internet, it works for everything."
